Christ Church of India celebrates Harvest Festival every year in the month of October. This festival coincides with Halloween. As an alternative to the pagan festival (read History of Halloween) the Harvest Festival gives everyone an opportunity to thank God in a small way for the big wonders he has done in their lives.
The daylong festival features entertainment for all ages. Volunteers dedicate their best to God and display it for sale. The proceeds from this event are distributed to the poor and the needy ( read Benevolence Ministry ).
Ticket coupons will be available in the Fellowship Hall on the day of the event. They can be purchased in advance from the church.
The Harvest Festival starts at 9.00 am with a sumptuous breakfast. Food booths o ffer all kinds of ethnic dishes from every corner of India. For our guests who can't handle too much curry we also have Continental food. We have enough variety to serve both our vegetarian and non-vegetarian guests. Some of the more popular eats include Bhel Puri, Paav Bhaji, Aapam, Dosa, Barbequed Ribs, Chicken Korma, Cotton Candy, Snow Cones, etc.
Other activities include puppet shows, pony rides, petting zoo, magic show, fun house, games, etc.
Items on sale include homemade pickles, plants, gift items, decorations, toys and other rare things.
This event is aimed at not only giving children and adults an alternative to Halloween but also an opportunity to give back to God what he has graciously given us. Join us this year and become a part of the celebration of the Harvest Festival.
